C4 PROGRAM

The visit of Rev. Fr. John Ravi, S.J., the Apostolic Secretary of Jesuit Education in South Asia, marked a significant and memorable milestone in the journey of St. Mary’s School, ICSE, ISC & International.

Our esteemed Guest of Honour, Rev. Fr. John Ravi, S.J., was ceremoniously escorted to the school auditorium with a reverent Guard of Honour, accompanied by Director Rev. Fr. Yohan Alphonso, S.J., Administrator Rev. Fr. Savio Fernandes, S.J., Principal Mr. Austine Vas, Academic Coordinators Mr. Elias Coelho, Ms. Cheryl Colaco, and Ms. Nandini Basu, along with Supervisors Ms. Sandra Fernandes, Ms. Mary Dias and Ms. Nisha Mendes.

The programme commenced with the auspicious lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the illumination of knowledge and wisdom, followed by a prayer and a graceful prayer dance performed by the students.

The school highlights presented, celebrated our noteworthy milestones, spotlighting the tireless efforts, dedication and collaborative spirit of our staff and students. A special emphasis was placed on the C4 Programme, a transformative initiative inspired by the book Good Practices in Jesuit Schools, authored by Rev. Fr. John Ravi, S.J., and thoughtfully edited and compiled by Rev. Fr. Christu Savariraj, S.J.

The C4 Presentation showcased the core values of the four C’s – Conscience, Competence, Commitment and Compassion, which guide our vision for holistic education. Following this, a heartwarming video was screened featuring interviews with staff and glimpses of vibrant C4 classroom activities conducted during the dedicated Friday sessions.

One of the most joyous and spirited moments of the morning was the launch of the school’s original C4 Anthem, “THIS IS WE”. Sung with tremendous enthusiasm and energy by both staff and students, the anthem struck a powerful chord and is sure to resonate through our classrooms, corridors and hearts in the days to come.

The dignitaries were then invited on stage, where Rev. Fr. Yohan Alphonso, S.J. warmly felicitated Rev. Fr. John Ravi, S.J., expressing his heartfelt appreciation for Father’s gracious presence and generous sharing of time and wisdom. Fr. Ravi also unveiled the specially designed C4 Journal, which will be used by students to reflect on activities, capture personal insights and engage with the evaluation framework of the programme.

In his inspiring and thought-provoking address, Fr. John Ravi, S.J.  emphasized the ethical use of Artificial Intelligence, the value of discernment, and the importance of keeping God at the centre of all our actions. He encouraged students to choose their friends wisely and through these practices, become beacons of positive change in the world. Fr. Ravi also expressed his joy in witnessing St. Mary’s become the first school to incorporate the good practices of Jesuit Education, and imparted his blessings and best wishes for our continued journey.

The programme concluded with a gracious Vote of Thanks delivered by Principal Mr. Austine Vas, who sincerely acknowledged the tireless efforts and wholehearted contributions of every member of the staff in making the day an outstanding success.
