Dear parents,

The St. Ignatius of Loyola – Felicitation Programme was held on July 30, 2019.

It began with a High tea for the Jesuit fathers from 10 am to 10.30 am in the staff Library of St. Mary’s School, ICSE, followed by a cultural programme in the auditorium of the school. The school officials escorted the Jesuit fathers to the auditorium for the programme. Altogether, eight Jesuit fathers joined us for the programme. The staff and students welcomed the Jesuit fathers.

The Lighting of the Lamp was done by Rev. Father Lawrence Ferrao on behalf of the Jesuit fathers and brothers. This was followed by a solemn Prayer Service by the teachers of the secondary school.Through their petitions, the staff members prayed for all the fathers of the Jesuit community asking God to shower his blessings on them. This was soon followed by “Make Me a Channel of your Peace” a hymn sung by the choir. one of St. Ignatius’ favourite hymns. The next item was a Power Point presentation on the Life of St. Ignatius of Loyola. The PPT highlighted the various stages in the life of St. Ignatius, right from birth till his death.

The students of class 3-3 also enlightened the audience on the works of the Jesuits. They presented tokens of appreciation in the form of gift hampers to the fathers.St. Ignatius was a great leader who brought about the Jesuit movement…To this, the students of class 5-3 danced to the song – “ Leader in Me”.This was followed by the ‘Felicitation of the Jesuit Fathers and Brothers’.Each of our school officials presented a token of appreciation to the Jesuit fathers and Brothers in the form of a small gift and a greeting card.It was now time for some entertainment. So a surprise band performance by – Our in-house band – Nebula, enthralled the fathers with pop music.Father Lawrence Ferrao, then addressed the students with an insight on St. Ignatius and encouraged the boys to do something great in their lives and leave a mark for others to see and follow. Our Principal, Fr. Dr. Francis Swamy, gave the vote of thanks.Eventually, the programme in the auditorium ended on a good note by singing the grand song “Noble Knight” in praise of St. Ignatius of Loyola.

But this wasn’t all….. Our School officials and the staff committee members visited the residential building to pay a visit to the house-bound fathers and interacted with them on the eve of the feast of St. Ignatius of Loyola. It made them feel warm and cared for.

Thanking you,

Yours sincerely,

Fr. Dr. Francis Swamy, S.J.
