The feast mass of St. Ignatius of Loyola, the founder of the Society of Jesus, was held at 9 am at St. Anne’s Church, Mazagaon on 31st July, 2019. The Eucharist was attended by the children, parents, staff and management of St. Mary’s School, ICSE and SSC. The mass was animated by the teachers of St. Mary’s School, ICSE. Fr. Warner D’souza was the main celebrant of the Eucharistic Celebration. The con-celebrants were Fr. Francis Swamy, S.J, Fr. Jude Fernandes S.J, Fr. Arun Lobo S.J., Fr. Lawrie Ferrao S.J., Fr. Sylvester D’souza S.J. and Fr. Albert Menezes S.J.
Being an alumni of St. Mary’s School, ICSE himself, Fr. Warner, shared his own experiences as a student in a Jesuit school and how it motivated him to be “Men for others.” He encouraged our students to follow the role model of Jesus and reach out and help others whenever possible. During the offertory procession the staff members of St. Mary’s School, ICSE and SCC offered a tree (chart) with flowers and butterflies, symbolizing all those people for whom they were grateful to God. The children’s choir enlivened the Eucharist and it was a very spiritual experience.
Fr. Dr. Francis Swamy, S.J.
