INDIAN MUSIC TALENT CONTEST for classes IV to X was held on November 27, 2018. The programme started at 9a.m. in the school auditorium with the welcome of esteemed judges Mrs. Archana Jain, Mr. Ved Jamshandekar and Mr. Julian Sequeira who spared their valuable time for the occasion. All the judges are highly qualified and experienced in music (Sangeet Visharad) and are still pursuing their music learning.
The programme was divided in three sessions :
SESSION -1 Class IV, VII, X (only participants of class X)
SESSION – 2 Class V, VI
SESSION – 3 Class VIII, IX
The comperes for the programme were Enrico Rodrigues, Ojas Binayake and Kavish Soningra. There were lively performances by the students in vocal as well as instrumental music. All the students were well prepared, innovative, confident and were highly appreciated by the Judges.
The students secured good points for their efforts and many of them received merits. Many enthusiastic parents also graced the occasion. Their cheering and clapping were encouraging and motivated the students to present their best before the judges
The programme was co-ordinated by the Indian Music Committee members. Members are Ms. Freny Billimoria, Ms. Sakina Japanwala, Ms. Kalpana D’ costa, Ms. Sharon Tivade, Ms. Swapna Nayak , Mr. Sudhir Singh, Mr. Sandeep Gaikwad, Mr. Samson Dias and Ms. Sangita Upadhyay .
The programme went smoothly and concluded by 3:15p.m. The success of the programmme was the result of hard work of all the committee members. All the auditions and practices were completed during lunch break to avoid disruption of studies and weekends of the participants. On account of the overwhelming response from the participants, we were compelled to conduct re-auditions in vocal and instrumental after school.
It was an enjoyable experience for the students and they developed greater interest in Indian Music .
