St Mary’s ICSE school organized a cub camp to Silvassa on the 9th and 10th of March 2019.
The cubs from classes 2 to 5 accompanied by their scouters and the Principal Rev. Fr. Dr. Francis Swamy and the cub master boarded the buses and left the school premises at 7.30 a.m. on Saturday, 9th March 2019.
They were booked at the Golden Pond Resort, Silvassa and arrived at this place by noon, the same day. They camped at this resort for the two days.
This camp was a special occasion for the new recruits who had their Investiture Ceremony. At this ceremony, the cubs got acquainted with the cub laws, the promise and the motto. They were instructed on the correct dress code and their complete cub uniform.
Many activities were planned for this camp and the cubs got involved in basic exercises, telegames, talks on community helpers, enacting short skits, solving worksheets and puzzles.
The evening was spent in swimming, dancing, star gazing etc.
The cubs were encouraged to participate in group discussions and to freely interact with their peers thus helping them to identify and manifest their talents and charisms. Thus, they were trained to be independent and responsible students.
The next morning, the cubs were taken for a morning walk to Butterfly Garden. They were amazed at the beauty and the varied colours that Mother Nature had to offer. The cool morning air coupled with the beauty of the surroundings mesmerized the environment, and left the cubs wonder struck.
After lunch, the cubs were ready to start their journey homeward bound. They reached school at 6.30 p.m. on Sunday 10th March, 2019. As they returned home, their minds were filled with joyful memories and were happy to be enriched with the camp, so beautifully arranged by their cub master and scouters.
